About Us
The principals of Alitus Partners are seasoned business executives with over 100 years of collective hands on operating business experience. All of us have started with small or very small businesses and built them into significant operations in our respective industries. While capital and financial engineering expertise is fairly easy to find these days, operating experience in building small businesses is not. Our goal is to invest in management and bring our expertise to the table to help a small companies grow into large sustainable businesses.
We are long term investors and partners, ten to twenty years. Most private equity firms invest for the short term so the principals can reap their financial rewards when the business is sold three to five years after the initial acquisition. The principals at Alitus invest primarily our own capital. We don’t have arbitrary IRR metrics that must be achieved so we can raise our next fund. We make sound business decisions for the right reasons, because they are the best path for the long term growth and viability of the business.
We understand how important a solid foundation is for future growth and we will help our companies develop that foundation as a means to reach the potential they cannot achieve with their current resources. Many small businesses have excellent opportunities for growth of the top and bottom lines however are underperforming their potential due to their need for growth capital, expertise, management and or leadership. This is where our years of experience pay off. Growing a business from a few million dollars of EBITDA to ten million plus is where most businesses fail. We can help existing ownership and management achieve that objective, and beyond. Success for us means our owner partners earn significantly more in future years than they take out in sale proceeds today.
